They are responsible for a range of floor care duties, such as mopping,stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extraction, and bonneting. Additionally, they maybe assigned light maintenance tasks. The floor technician/floor care technician adheres toguidelines and works within designated areas to ensure compliance with quality standards,safety protocols, and customer service expectations. They are accountable for completingtheir cleaning tasks satisfactorily and on schedule, reporting any equipment or productneeds, and ensuring the safe use of cleaning solutions. Moreover, they handle trash,recycling, and soiled linen disposal, and may also perform outdoor tasks, such as groundscleaning. Other assigned duties may include high dusting projects, trash pick-up,equipment maintenance and safety, and providing exceptional customer service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:JOB FUNCTION: Floor Care
- Perform floor care duties in various areas, including dry mopping, wet mopping, buffing, stripping, waxing, wet vac cleaning, sweeping, and disinfecting.shampooers, and carpet extractors.
JOB FUNCTION: Project Workrooms, and common areas that require a ladder or special equipment.
JOB FUNCTION: Trash pick-updumpsters. Empty trash as needed while cleaning individual rooms.
JOB FUNCTION: Equipment maintenance and safety on equipment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Operate equipment such as mops, wringers, buckets, high-speed buffers, carpet
- Complete high dusting projects, cleaning and dusting walls in hallways, resident
- Empty trash bins in units, clean and reline them, and transport and place the bags in
- Follow safety procedures at all times and perform preventative maintenance checks
- Secure work areas and post safety notices. Report any structural or equipment
- Maintain and properly use department equipment.
- Interact appropriately with residents, clients, personnel, and the public.
- Respond to customer concerns in a prompt manner.
- Ensure facility continuously has a clean appearance and clean/shiny floors.
- Reports observations of structural and equipment wear, defects, and malfunctions
- Reports supply and equipment needs to the supervisor for replenishing.
- Ensure all Environmental Services Janitor Closets are adequately stocked, cleaned
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Prior floor care experience is preferred.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Must be punctual and able to read, write, and speak English effectively.
- Ability to recognize hazards and follow appropriate safety measures.
- Must maintain personal cleanliness and demonstrate pleasant and courteous
- Ability to cooperate with other employees and perform routine tasks.
- Must be able to work independently and complete all responsibilities without
- Must be able to fully understand and complete all in-services and provide a criminal
- High School Diploma or equivalent and some housekeeping experience preferred.
- Ability to understand oral instructions and undergo training.
- No certificates or licenses required but must be able to meet attendance
- Ability to handle and mix chemicals safely and properly.
- Knowledge of environmental services program requirements.
- Knowledge of and ability to use all department equipment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to positively interact with residents, clients, and other personnel.
