What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Dispatcher position at Sonepar?
- Responsible for the adherence of all operational procedures for the CDC drivers.
- Works closely with Sales, Purchasing, and Warehouse Operations to ensure all expectations are met through constant and effective communication.
- Monitors performance indicators and hold driver accountable for meeting set goals.
- Oversees the training of driver on the effective and safe usage of equipment and machinery.
- Understand and abide by the Federal Highway Administration Rules and Regulations for drivers where applicable. Maintain driver logs and other necessary paperwork according to D.O.T. regulations.
- Schedule all necessary deliveries and pick-ups of materials and packages for the Company using the most efficient and effective means.
- Prepares daily delivery schedule and ensures it is met, based on the customer delivery expectations.
- Confers with other department heads to ensure proper coordination of delivery activities with those activities of other functions such as wire, production, sales, and purchasing.
- Advises and instructs Driver in all aspects of work; ensures adherence to Company's safety policies and procedures.
- Reviews and evaluates the progress of employees with Warehouse Management following the company guidelines.
- Plans and schedules tasks over the short and long range to determine priorities and assign work.
- Compiles and prepares reports for management regarding Delivery Operations and financial matters; incorporates information submitted by other departmental supervisors.
- Exercises authority for independent decision making affecting the Delivery Department.
- Transmits administrative information, policies and procedures, decisions, changes, etc. to Drivers.
- Ability to effectively communicate in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
