We are looking for a data analyst to join the Vendor Relations team, supporting the ongoing analysis and reporting efforts for Sonepar US Operating company’s relationship & performance with our strategic vendors. The right person will have a strong analytics background with equal parts technical and communication skills. Duties require broad conceptual judgment, quantitative thinking, strong initiative, and ability to deal with complex business and financial problems. This position will enable the Vendor Management group to deliver value and enhance overall operational effectiveness. Ideal candidates are proactive, goal-oriented, and team-players. They will work independently yet integrate with other teams comfortably.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
- Collaborate with Product Strategy Managers and manage process flow and reporting.
- Communicate findings and recommendations across all levels of the organization
- Assist in managing existing strategic vendor relationships
- Work with Vendors on program performance.
- Participate in cross-functional teams
- Conduct vendor analytics & research and support strategic planning across entire company.
- Conducting analyses & makes recommendations for improving existing processes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation.
- Proactive and prompt follow-up.
- Skilled at creating process and systems to pull together data from various sources.
- Generate ad hoc vendor analysis and research
- Manage multiple projects and exhibit effective organization.
- Foster communication within Vendor Relations, Marketing and IT Teams and with other departments, and with management.
- Develop a deep understanding of the electrical supplies market and actively remains current with industry standards, trends, and competitive intelligence on vendor management best practices.
- Maintain knowledge & support company policies and management decisions with a sense of urgency and professionalism.
- Additional duties as assigned by the VP Vendor Relations
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree with quantitative major such as finance, math, applied math, engineering or data science a plus.
- Must be proficient in MS Office Suite: Excel, Word & PowerPoint. Access is a plus
- Experience with Power BI Cognos, Tableau, or similar data visualization tools is a plus
- Consistent track record in using quantitative analysis to drive market and/or business decisions
- Must be comfortable meeting with, presenting to, and supporting all levels of staff
- Experience supporting sales or operations functions is a plus
- Experience manipulating data warehouses as a resource for analytical work and Excel Reporting is a plus
- Travel up to 20% of the time
