Duties & Job Functions
Employees must, at all times, be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow associates.
Oversee all aspects of the daily operation of the hotel’s banquets.
Work with the F&B Manager and Chef & B Director and keep them informed of issues as they arise.
Keep immediate supervisor fully informed of all problems or matters requiring his/her attention.
Coordinate and monitor all phases of Loss Prevention within the department.
Prepare and submit required reports in a timely manner.
Monitor quality of service in the banquets department.
Assist in menu planning and preparation.
Ensure compliance with all local liquor laws, and health and sanitation regulations.
Ensure compliance with SOP and procedures in all outlets.
Be visible on the floor and assist staff as needed during meal periods.
Provide feedback to leadership for associate performance reviews in accordance with hotel standards.
Be involved in and/or conduct departmental and hotel training.
Assist with the management of the interviewing process of candidates for the banquet department and follow standards for hiring approvals.
Complete tip reporting.
Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
Assist with the management of banquet associates.
Respond to guest complaints in a timely manner.
Comply with weekly and monthly forecasting procedures.
Ensure the training of associates on SOP and technical job tasks.
Education & Experience
At least 2 years of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field;
Or a 4-year college degree and at least 1 year of related experience;
Or a 2-year college degree and 1 or more years of related experience.
Must have knowledge of service standards, food and beverage preparation techniques, health department rules and regulations, and liquor laws.

Comply with hotel management standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
Must be able to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
Must be able to maintain the confidentiality of information.
Perform other duties as requested by management.
Physical Demands:
Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity.
Stand, sit or walk for an extended period or an entire work shift
Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems; however, must be able to work in extreme temperatures like freezers (-10°F) and kitchens ( 110°F), for one hour or more.
Must be able to sit at a desk for up to 3-5 hours per day. Walking and standing are required.
The length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task.
Must be able to lift to 30 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis
Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. occasionally
Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks occasionally.
Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors, and subordinates.
