The Sonnenalp Golf Club in Edwards is looking for Outside Services staff that is able to work through September.
Wage Range: $16.00 per hour, plus tips
Typical Schedule: 30-40 hours per week, 4-5 days a Week
Primary Purpose of Position
The Outside services position is in charge of and accountable for maintaining a high level of guest service with members, their accompanied guest and hotel guests. Assures optimum use of golf course facilities through scheduling golfers' starting tee times, inspecting registrations for validity, and providing information on course rules and procedures. This position is also tasked with maintaining the golf car fleet, driving range and bag storage areas. All functions of the position need to be performed with pride and commitment and total satisfaction of the membership and guests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain outside work areas (including but not restricted to cart staging area, starter podium, and parking lot), cart barn facility (including club storage) and bag storage in immaculate condition at all times.
- Responsible for starting golfers in a timely manner and maintaining a pace of play of no more than 4 hours and fifteen minutes of eighteen holes of golf.
- Daily set-up and maintenance of driving range facility.
- Daily cleanup of driving range including 90% of daily range ball retrieval during assigned shift.
- Greet players and answer and questions in regard to the course and Club.
- Maintain a get the job done attitude, presenting solutions to potential problems or concerns.
- Work as a team with the inside staff, taking direction from the inside staff when necessary
- Assist in keeping accurate records and maintenance of club storage facility.
- Assist in rental club inventory.
- Pair golfers as necessary.
- Keep accurate records of daily tee sheet, turn times, finish times, and cart numbers.
- Inform golfers of rules and regulations pertaining to the golf course, and enforce Club rules.
- Inform supervisor of any violations of course rules, golf etiquette or safety.
- Provide direction and assistance to golfers and ensure the smooth flow of play on the course.
- Provide timely updates and communications regarding pace of play, status of tee times, course conditions and other pertinent information to the Golf Shop staff.
- Complete accident and incident reports, handle emergency situations and submit documentation to management when necessary.
- Inform management if supplies are low and need to be ordered.
- Assist in supervising cart maintenance; daily, monthly, and seasonal routine maintenance of cart fleet.
- Assist in accurate record keeping of maintenance of cart fleet.
- All employees are required to show up to work dressed and ready to work on time or a few minutes early and work their designated shift and/or stay late if circumstances dictate.
- Employee is required to attend all Outside Services Staff meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) desired.
- Prior guest service experience in a golf related position desired.
- One year of participation in the game of golf on a recreational basis.
Special Skills/Equipment
- Effective interpersonal and public speaking skills.
- Effective organizational skills.
- Golf experience necessary.
- Must be 16 years of age.
Essential Physical Requirements
- Able to routinely lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to drive a golf cart
- Able to work outdoors in inclement and widely changing weather conditions
- Ability to stand and walk for full length of shift, up to 12 hours a day
- Able to perform various activities such as constant standing, walking, frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and squatting
