While reporting to the Global Payroll Supervisor, you will be responsible for maintaining payroll related accounts. They are responsible for the reconciliation of accounts and account accuracy. The Payroll Specialist has to ensure benefits were withheld, remitted to accounts payable and funded.
What you’ll be doing:
- Performs and monitors fundamental accounting activities which include: the preparation and review of data for input in the general ledger, the review of general ledger and subsidiary ledgers transactions to ensure accuracy and proper accounting treatment, preparation and review of periodic governmental reports (i.e., Bureau of the Census)
- Handles maintenance to earnings and deduction codes
- Responsible for reconciling the data entered into Workday with Oracle.
- Posting the general ledger after each payroll, ensuring errors are corrected
- Performs detailed account analysis on a monthly / quarterly basis
- Balance/Reconciles benefits and ensuring they are funded timely and accurately
- Prepares journal entries for safety shoes, 401k and month end items
This position is located at our Corporate Headquarters in beautiful Hartsville, SC and close to exciting destinations (Myrtle Beach, SC Charleston, SC, Columbia, SC and Charlotte, NC) or has the possibility of being Hybrid.

- Obtained/actively seeking a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an accounting or finance emphasis or equivalent job experience
- 2 – 4 years of financial/ general ledger experience
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to grasp a general knowledge of multiple disciplines and technologies
- Reconciliation experience
- Month end closing experience
- Ability to effectively organize and prioritize
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
This is a progression position and could be a level I, II or III. Compensation and progression level will be based on candidate’s experience and education, and current business needs.
Compensation:
The annual base salary range for this role is from $60,675.00 to $72,810.00
An incentive bonus is awarded to eligible employees upon attaining various business and individual goals as defined by the Company and the department leader. This incentive bonus is discretionary, and the Company has sole discretion to determine the amount of the award.
