What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Manager position at Sonoco?
Develops operating and capital budgets for the plant. Responsible for all physical assets of the plant. Responsible for compliance with all federal, state and local laws and regulations.
What you'll be doing:
- Maintain a safe and clean operation. Put in place an effective Safety Plan to achieve site, division and corporate goals.
- Maintain close working relations with Customers.
- Plans and directs the activities of the manufacturing and maintenance departments and all of the support services. Develop and maintain trust with employees to establish credibility.
- Analyzes operational costs, seeks manufacturing improvement and insures there is a program to continuously control and reduce costs, improve quality and operating efficiency.
- Responsible for annual technology and productivity plans that give required improvement in costs.
- Develops operating and capital budgets for the plant.

This position is located in Jacksonville, NC.
We'd love to hear from you if:
- Four year undergraduate
- Engineering, business or related. Significant experience in tube and core industry could substitute for a degree.
- Would like to see experience as PE / QE, Shift Supervisor, Superintendent. Good hands-on knowledge of tubes and cores.
- Plant Manager should posses and utilize Lean, Kaisen and ATS skills for analysis and continuous improvement.
Compensation:
Plant Manager: The annual base salary range for this role is from $104,925 to $125,910 plus annual target bonus of 12.5% of base salary
