Reporting directly to the Supply Planning Lead as a Supply Planner, you will be responsible for owning and managing the site-level Material Requirements Plan (MRP). As a key member of the supply chain team, you will have responsibility to balance required and available materials to optimize service, working capital and material costs, given network lead times, order quantities, and other variables.
What you’ll be doing:
Analyst
- Uses standard MRP planning tools and processes to balance customer demand with material requirements.
- Creates purchase orders, including discrete and blanket orders, for complex purchase requests. Clearly defines all requirements, pricing, terms and conditions and expectations with supply orders.
- Manages material exceptions by using Oracle MRP tool (ASCP) by expediting, delaying, or canceling orders, as required.
- Maintains inventory stocks at targeted levels.
- Analyzes and manages overall plant material flows and develops strategies to meet goals. Work with production, shipping, and other staff to maintain minimal inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods.
- Identifies possible future capacity constraints and bottlenecks in the supply base.
- Assists in determination of material obsolescence and in purging obsolete inventory from the system.
- Works with Supply Mgmt and suppliers on service-level agreements to align lead times and minimum order quantities.
Systems expert
- Maintains information in both Oracle and the MRP system settings to optimize inventory, and resolves system reconciliation issues such as shipping, receiving, and inventory discrepancies.
- Maintains and improves Bill of Material accuracy in Oracle/Agile.
- Develops and maintains material planning attributes in conjunction with purchasing, planning, manufacturing operations, logistics/warehousing and commercial teams, including safety stocks, lead times, order quantities, campaign, supplier delivery performance or production strategy, batch yields and cycle times.
Communicator/reporter
- Communicates with all plant functional leaders to understand their requirements.
- Supports plant functions by providing information on purchasing processes, products, and suppliers. Mitigates problems by applying a broad view of situational implications and total cost impacts. Provides value in resolving supplier and purchased product related issues.
- Report on back orders, short stock, excess items, and slow-moving inventory to the parties concerned.
- Measure, analyze and report key process metrics, and monitor adherence to key performance indicators (KPIs).
Process improver
- Works with Division Supply Chain to make incremental improvements to material planning systems and reporting.
- Acts as key member of the SPS/(TPM) Supply Chain Pillar which actively seeks to lean out all processes and reduce wastes
- Analyzes supplier performance, inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste or optimize customer service.
- Works with finance and suppliers to resolve invoicing issues.
This position will be located in either the Charlotte, NC office, or an existing manufacturing location. Location will be based on experience and preference.

- You have a 4-year degree, 5 years of related experience can substitute.
- You have Oracle [preferred] or other ERP experience [required]
- You have MRP experience [required]
- Are highly proficient required with all MS Office tools, esp Excel (advanced level)
- You are highly analytical, flexible, collaborative, self-motivated, and have strong attention to detail.
- Have an ASCM certification (CPIM or CSCP) [preferred]
This is a progression position and could be a level I or II . Compensation and progression level will be based on candidate’s experience and education, and current business needs.
Compensation:
The annual base salary range for this role is from
Supply Planner I $ 53,925 to $64,710
Supply Planner II $63,750 to $76,500
An annual bonus is awarded to eligible employees upon attaining various business and individual goals as defined by the Company and the department leader. This annual bonus is discretionary, and the Company has sole discretion to determine the amount of the award.
