Real-time Asset Supervisor
SVS is a dynamic, multi-disciplinary visualization studio based on the lot in Culver City. The studio specializes in real-time based visualization using the latest virtual production technology and is searching for a Real-time Asset Supervisor to lead our VAD asset department within the studio.
Responsibilities:
Work with filmmakers and creative supervisors on designing environments and assets to work within Unreal in a Visualization pipeline
Lead asset team in development of high-quality assets
Ingest assets from 3rd parties and integrate into virtual visualization environments
Build assets to an adjustable quality level determined by many factors including available development time during the visualization process
Is active in the creative process and communicates goals and objectives to the team
Providing long-term strategic planning and inspiring technical solutions regarding asset development
Leverage latest advancements in Unreal Engine to expedite asset development process
Ensure that standardized practices are developed and implemented across projects to meet high quality and aesthetic standards
Technical ability to create project level shaders and to utilize Unreal blueprints in the development of assets.
Work with production support to plan schedules, commit to deliveries, and inspire artists to deliver remarkable results
Lead, coach, and mentor artists to create a unified vision for projects
Baseline:
Portfolio of work showing modeling and texturing expertise across a variety of types of models with a focus on environment models, props, and sets.
5 years of experience with real-time content creation including:
5 years of experience of hard surface, and environment modeling using Maya (preferred), or Max
Experience using sculpting tools like Z-Brush.
Experience creating textures and materials that adhere to Physically Based Rendering principles using Substance Designer and Painter.
Extensive experience with Modeling, Unwrapping, and Texturing.
Experience crunching something down to a low-polygon count, (but knowing where to preserve details)
3 years experience developing games, or VR/AR titles using a real-time 3D game engine like Unity or Unreal (preferred) including at least 2 shipped titles.
Ability to take film-quality assets and prepare them for performant rendering in an AR/VR environment.
Experience creating material and shaders in Unreal
Experience collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams using task-management software (JIRA, Confluence, etc.)
Would Be Nice:
Visual Effects experience (Nuke, Renderman, VRAY, etc.)
Ability to create concept and previsualization assets.
Photogrammetry and Scanning experience.
Experience lighting in Unreal and Unity
Basic Scripting Knowledge (C / JavaScript / Python)
Animation/Rigging Experience
