Are you ready to make an impact? Imagine yourself at the heart of an organization publishing many of the most beloved Catholic authors and distributing over one million books per year, building its digital presence. And we’re not just reaching Catholics — we’re now consistently touching mainstream audiences with the message of Christ. The opportunity you've dreamt of is within reach! We are looking for someone like you — a committed Catholic with a flair for social media and deep knowledge of the church, the faith, as well as a pulse on the cultural climate.
On day one, you will be a key player in our mission to elevate our social media presence. You will proactively engage departments to better understand and strategize on how we can grow our digital footprint. The ideal candidate should be well-organized, attentive to detail, and comfortable working cross-functionally. In this role, you can expect to set objectives for social growth, build an effective content strategy, increase traffic, and boost engagement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development of daily social media platform management, execution, and brand cohesiveness. Draft comprehensive marketing plans to boost brand image, increase customer engagement, and improve conversion rates.
- Create, curate, and manage social media content with an emphasis on video. Interact productively with creatives, including freelance writers and graphic designers, when necessary to achieve social media campaign objectives.
- Monitor social trends, including developments in design, platforms, strategy, and innovation to stay relevant and effective. Identify and support efforts to boost community engagement, grow our subscriber base, and drive sales.
- Design, implement, and manage social ad campaigns integrated into the company's strategic marketing plans. Track key performance metrics to maximize results.
- Collaborate across all departments to build digital marketing plans for key initiatives, distribution, and brand campaigns.
- Establish an influencer marketing strategy, identify & onboard influencers, and integrate content between our brands.
- Ensure that all social media content adheres to Sophia's brand guidelines and communication policies.
Core Competencies:
Sophia Institute Press publishes both faithful Catholic classics and new texts intended to nurture the spiritual, moral, and cultural life in conformity with the authentic teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. We are seeking an individual who is committed to advancing our mission. The ideal candidate will have passionate interest and 5 years’ experience in digital marketing campaign work and in creating clever, original, digital content that effectively drives followers, engagement, and conversions.
Communication: Great verbal and written communication skills are essential. As a first-rate communicator, the successful candidate must identify social media events (such as interesting hashtags or sensitive topics) and share content that reflects the company’s personality and aligns with the social media strategy.
Creativity: Crafting engaging content is critical. The successful candidate must constantly align content with market trends — faith-based and secular — to interest and engage both existing and potential new customers.
Technology: Computer skills, advanced experience in using social media platforms, and expertise in using tools that analyze social media platforms are requirements for this position.
Research: The successful candidate must understand the trends and techniques of quality social marketing. Skills in learning social media trends, identifying new social media tools, and finding real-time online conversations are necessary for this position.
