Overview

SOSi is c­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­urrently looking for an experienced Secret cleared Information Security Analyst to join our team in Honolulu, Hawaii at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam.  The Mission Partner Environment Engineering Services (MPE ES) team in Honolulu provides multi-enclave Coalition connectivity to INDOPACOM warfighters by utilizing leading-edge Desktop as a Service (DaaS) Private Cloud technologies. From the proof of concept seven years ago, the MPE ES has grown in capabilities and processes, but now we need an experienced engineer to continue bolstering our cyber defense posture and manage the complexities of information assurance for our unique enterprise.

 

The Information Security Analyst will be responsible for planning and implementation of security measures to protect information technology networks and systems. Works with customers, partners, stakeholders, and team members to develop and implement security procedures; troubleshoot problems; help to establish and implement policies and their conformance; coordinate activities of LAN support personnel, provide guidance on common networking issues. Assess vendor products; manage network performance, troubleshoot problems, and maintain network security.

Responsibilities

  • Provide end user IA support for all computer equipment operating systems, peripherals, and applications.
  • Maintain network security and ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.
  • Support, monitor, test, and troubleshoot hardware and software for IA problems.
  • Participate in developing and implementing network-related procedures and standards.
  • Participate in and may lead aspects of major network installations and upgrades.
  • Interface with vendors to ensure appropriate resolution during network outages or periods of reduced performance.
  • Conduct tests of IA safeguards in accordance with established test plans and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant hardware and software applications as assigned.
  • Participates in special projects as required.
  • Understand and implement technical vulnerability corrections.
  • Examine potential security violations to determine if Department of Defense policy has been breached, assess the impact, and preserve evidence.
  • Work with partners, customers and stakeholders to configure, optimize, and test network servers, hubs, routers, and switches to ensure that they comply with security policy, procedures, and technical requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain defense systems including endpoint security, perimeter firewalls, and intrusion detection, and vulnerability detection systems.
  • Serve on multiple functional teams in support of the MPE enterprise, to include the IA Policy & Audit, Incident Management and Response, Cyber Monitoring, Firewall Management, and Scanning Teams

Qualifications

  • Must have an active secret clearance. Desired is an in-scope Top Secret clearance and the ability to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of directly related experience in network security and analysis.
  • Current DoD 8570.01-M IAM Level I IA Baseline Certification such as CompTIA Security+ certification preferred, required inside of 6 months.

Skills, knowledge and abilities:

  • Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network security.
  • Knowledge of scanning, endpoint security, and firewall technologies.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of desktop operating systems and applications.

  • May require periods of non-traditional working hours including consecutive nights or weekends.
