Job Summary
The Supervisor, Manufacturing is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of all manufacturing personnel within their department.
This position ensures build plans are achieved with the highest level of customer satisfaction and quality, while also ensuring compliance to all regulatory and quality regulations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensures a proven mastery of all pertinent Manufacturing Assembly Procedures, Acceptance Procedures, Inspection Procedures for all personnel in the Front End Department;
- May rewrite processes to improve detail, incorporate visual aids, with the intent of improving the overall quality of Masimo products;
- Assist purchasing with inventory related issues, looking forward at future build schedules; Determines what and how many spare parts are needed for a particular piece of equipment;
- Knowledge of replenishment system for spare parts and the ability to determine if spares and / or supplies need to be ordered;
- Suggests additional testing if required for a particular part or process; Performs all of these tests and trains other personnel;
- Determine out of tolerance conditions and possess the skill set to solve the problem and take appropriate remedial actions;
- Ensures the proper recording and tabulation of all test data on appropriate forms; analyze the data to determine in or out special conditions;
- Performs both minor and major equipment preventive maintenance as directed by lead, supervisor or technician; Writes PM procedures, prints weekly PM sign-off sheets and makes the determination that all PM has been completed on time;
- Contribute to the Team effort by accomplishing related activities as needed; Determine goals for area of responsibility and communicates those goals to the team;
- strives to achieve those goals;
- Direct the training of new operators using current MAP and AP; determine whether training for an individual in his or her area of expertise has completed all pertinent training procedures;
- Comply with company safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions to Manufacturing Management;
- Ensure production documentation is complete and accurate;
- Scheduling of production in their area of responsibility;
- Supervise staff including :
- Recommend hire, promotion, demotion, reclassification or termination of employees; Trains and develops the Company’s manufacturing workers;
- Write and conduct performance appraisals and disciplinary actions plans; Recommend salary decisions (pay increases or new hire offers);
- Create training and employee development plans; Handle all departmental employee relations issues;
- Performs special projects as requested;
- Performs daily tasks as directed by Manufacturing Management;
Minimum Qualifications
- Ten or more years of related experience, with prior experience with leading / supervising manufacturing workers;
- Experience in high volume Medical Device manufacturing;
- Experience with Electronic Assembly;
- Knowledge / experience with cGMP requirements;
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to effectively interface with manufacturing workers, Research and Development, and Quality Assurance;
- Prior experienced with JIT, Kanban and other World Classs Manufacturing practices;
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge / experience with ISO-9000 requirements;
Education
High school diploma or GED is required. Some technical training or college coursework is preferred. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is highly desirable.
Compensation : The Base Salary Range for this position is $80,000- $120,000 . Actual placement within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, and experience.
Physical requirements / Work Environment
This position primarily works in an office and manufacturing / production environment. It requires frequent sitting, standing and walking.
Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required. May stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking in the facilities.
Some local travel is necessary, so the ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid Driver’s license is required.
