South College invites applications for the position of Director of Clinical Education for the developing Doctor of Physical Therapy program at the South College Nashville campus. We are searching for a team-oriented individual with excellent communication and organization skills.
Under the direction of the Program Director, the Director of Clinical Education is responsible for planning, coordination, facilitation, administration, and monitoring of the clinical education component of the physical therapy program. This individual will collaborate with faculty and clinical partners to develop a high-quality DPT program that addresses the physical therapy needs of the population – infant to elderly in both rural and urban settings. The Director of Clinical Education reports to the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program Director. This is a non-tenure track faculty position. Anticipated start date is January 1, 2023.

Requirements
Requirements:
• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree, an academic doctorate in Physical Therapy, or an academic doctorate (PhD, EdD, DSc) in a related field
• Active Physical Therapy license, or eligibility for licensure, in the State of Tennessee
• A minimum of three years of full time (or equivalent) post-licensure clinical practice
• A minimum of two years of clinical practice as a CCCE/SCCE and/or CI or two years of teaching, curriculum development and administration in a PT program
• Ability to effectively work with and learn modern relevant computer software (e.g. EXXAT, Canvas, Survey Monkey, etc.)
• Able to travel overnight or for extended periods
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrated enthusiasm for teaching
Desired skills include:
• Prior experience as either a Director or Assistant Director of Clinical Education in a CAPTE accredited Physical Therapy program
• Knowledge of CAPTE accreditation standards
• ABPTS Board certification or advanced professional certification
• Prior teaching experience in an academic Doctor of Physical Therapy program.
• Strong organizational and technology skills, and a willingness to adapt to changing assignments, multiple priorities, and deadlines.
• Collaboration and the capacity to build strong relationships with clinical partners, campus leadership, faculty, staff, and students to develop and implement effective clinical education curricular management.
• South College is particularly interested in candidates who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and who have a demonstrated commitment to improving the levels of access and success for underrepresented students within higher education.
• Evidence of or potential for achieving excellence in teaching and project management.
• A commitment to interdisciplinary education in health sciences.
• Evidence of an active research and scholarly agenda.
• Involvement as a member of a national/international professional association related to discipline.
