- Define health research and how health research is used.
- Describe the research process and comprehensively explain each step of the process.
- Understand how to develop an appropriate research study topic, including research questions and hypotheses (where applicable).
- Construct a thorough literature review
- Explain the elements of quantitative and qualitative research processes
- Assess ethical standards and considerations throughout the research process
- Determine appropriate data collection methods for a particular research design
- Choose data analysis methodologies to support a chosen research design
- Consider research reporting options and potential manuscript opportunitie
- Develop a comprehensive research proposal
Requirements
- A minimum of an acceptable master’s or doctoral degree in the discipline, or an earned master’s or doctoral degree and satisfactory completion of 18 graduate semester hours in the discipline. Official, sealed transcripts will be requested from both undergraduate and graduate institutions.
- Provide quality instruction in each assigned course within the approved academic program curriculum.
- Meet South College standards for classroom management, use of technology, grade submission, and records management.
- Prepare and implement teaching and evaluation strategies for engagement of students.
- Support student success through mentoring and tutoring.
- Experience and documented excellence in postsecondary teaching.
