Requirements
South College, Nashville Campus seeks a Student Affairs Coordinator to join the Student Services Department. Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Student Success, the Student Affairs Coordinator plans, organizes, and manages an assigned division within the Student Services Department to facilitate the delivery of services to students in the College. Candidates must be able to adapt to a high-paced work environment and be able to manage multiple priorities and changing assignments.
Responsibilities:
- Create and foster community engagement and campus connections by coordinating student activities, clubs, honor societies and organizations. Coordinates the Student Advisory Committee (SAC) meetings and membership.
- Coordinate, and evaluate academic support activities and programs (tutoring, seminars, and workshops).
- Ensure institutional compliance with Section 504 and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and with other federal and state regulations concerning students with disabilities. Review student requests for accommodations based on a documented disability and recommend reasonable accommodations. Provide notification to faculty of students with approved accommodations. Coordinate the acquisition of any resources necessary to provide the approved reasonable accommodations (such as interpreters, technology, and assistive devices).
- Coordinate the welcome/orientation sessions for new students.
- Provide oversite of student publications and communication, which includes the development and distribution of the quarterly, campus newsletter.
- Oversees and coordinates the satisfactory academic progress (SAP) appeal process.
- Manages the student conduct process. Maintain records of Honor Code violations.
- Assists with outreach and counseling of students on warning and probation.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a related field
- Prior experience in Student Affairs at a college or university setting
Knowledge & Skills Required:
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
- Skill in examining operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
