Surgery Scheduler - Gastroenterology

SJ Gastroenterology is an Affiliate of Virtua Medical Group. We are a specialty group that has 9 Top Docs and has serviced southern New Jersey for the last 40 years. SJ Gastroenterology’s mission is to provide the highest level of care to patients. We practice as a team with our patients as our primary focus.

Looking for an individual who is detailed oriented and has time management skills for a busy Gastroenterology office to schedule outpatient procedures.

Position location will be in our main office, Marlton, New Jersey.

Hours are Full-Time, Monday through Friday with 2 potential evenings a month.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Effective interpersonal and communication skills required

Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes a bonus

Insurance referral and precertification experience preferred

Medical Assistant Certificate preferred or at least 1-year clinical experience in a specialty office.

Must be fully Covid vaccinated including booster

Yearly Flu Vaccine

Responsibilities

· Greet our patients in a friendly and professional manner upon arrival to the scheduling office

· Surgical Scheduler will work with patient to schedule procedure at surgical center or outpatient hospital

· Verify patient insurance eligibility for Pre-certification and required referrals for physician/facility

· Provide information for pre-testing when required

· Acquire signed consents acknowledging patient’s understanding of the scheduled procedure

· Review and provide pre-procedure instructions to ensure patient has a clear understanding

· Follow physician’s directive for procedure clearances and medication changes pre-procedure in a prompt and professional manner

· Answer incoming calls and return patient calls for scheduling requests in a professional and timely fashion

· Provide surgical center/hospital support documentation pre-procedure

· Enter scheduling or post procedure recalls

Pay: $17.00 - $18.50 per hour
