Basic Statement of Responsibilities:
This position exists to demonstrate keen knowledge of Yachts along with a thorough understanding of client demands in order to successfully recommend a vessel that satisfies the client’s dream of a cruising lifestyle, deep sea fishing or island hopping while producing profitable sales transaction.
To achieve these objectives, the incumbent must possess full knowledge of available product lines, features and accessories; possess exceptional listening and customer service skills; and superior capability to close a deal at a profit.
Statement of Duties:
Selling New, Used and Brokered Boats to new and existing clients
Acquire full knowledge of, demonstrate knowledge of, and communicate SJYS product lines, their features, along with accessories and options available to the client.
Listen to client needs and identify a vessel that meets their needs
Show product to client in-water or on-land and demonstrate Yacht features
Organize and oversee timely installations of additional equipment
Provide resources and assist clients with arranging vessel insurance, surveyors, financial lenders
Ensure a worry-free experience for the customer by overseeing the inspection, sea trial, escrow, closing, titling and delivery of the vessel.
Actively participate engaged client with inspection and sea trial
Negotiate a profitable sale for the Company
Keep current with new boat designs, marine electronics technology and bestselling practices
Actively engage in modern yacht sales selling techniques
Effectively Market New and Used Yachts
Execute marketing activities/strategies
Make recommendations on how to generate more traffic
Take appropriate measures to deliver promotional trade items
Using all channels possible & utilize personal social media outlets to promote your listings and the company brand and brands we represent
Prospecting, Sourcing Clients to List Boats and Building Client Base
Attend and actively participate in on-land or in-water boat shows
Attend and actively participate in dealership orientations/meetings
Attend and actively participate in applicable networking events
Walk marinas to visit past clients and marina ownership
Participate in local fishing or yacht club activities
Support dealer demo boats in promotion
Solicit Customer referrals
Source social media outlets
Actively increase on a YOY basis, new boat listings
Deliver Exceptional Service
Within 2 hours of notification follow up on leads provided by Manufactures or inbound calls received by reception.
Introduce customers to the dealership team and differentiate ourselves from the competition,through personal level of service, the quality and efficiency of our operations.
Follow up periodically with previous customers, send a Thank-you note after the purchase or referral, send a holiday or birthday card to stand out from others, place phone calls on behalf of the customer to facilitate the close process.
Maintain Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, sales records and prospect management database as required.
Actively Participate in Sales Forecasting, Planning and Goal Setting.
Following Sales/Selling Training and Direction provided by the Senior Sales Manager
Adheres to Company practices and policies
Relevant Knowledge, Experience, Education, Training, Certifications:
3 plus years selling new, used and brokered boats
3 plus years of vessel knowledge and features along with accessories and outfitting options
5 plus years of exposure to the boating and sport fishing industry
Proven sales ability in negotiating and closing profitable deals
Demonstrated ability to build superior customer relationships and deliver exceptional worry-free service to the client
Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Products (Outlook, Word or Excel)
Demonstrated ability to successfully navigate social media sites and CRM databases
Must possess integrity, a welcoming demeanor, a passion for boating, motivation to sell, a positive attitude, keen attention to detail, and a strong desire to be the number 1 sales person.
Must possess exceptional oral and written communication skills
Must possess a professional image in representing the Company
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and be a team player
Familiar with boat safety protocols
Ability to follow specific procedures for lead management, sales and closings.
Captain’s license desirable but not required
Physical Demands/Working Environment:

Physical ability to navigate marinas and board a vessel
Visual and oral ability to demonstrate features and explain contracts/agreements

Pay: $46,369.00 - $94,050.00 per year
