Position Summary:

The harvester removes mushrooms of varying sizes and shapes from the mushroom beds in order to fill customer orders, to provide room for new mushroom growth and to maintain top quality of the product for sale.

Experience:

None required, but prior mushroom harvesting experience is a plus

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Following the direction of the Supervisor regarding houses to be harvested, the containers to be filled and etc..
• Operates safely and efficiently with a minimum of superfluous activity.
• Ensures the mushroom bed surfaces remain in good condition through good harvesting techniques.
• Maintains all food safety and quality standards by following the Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs).
• Stores all harvesting equipment in accordance with Company SOP.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work area, minimizing stump droppage on the floors, mushroom knockdowns on the beds and safety hazards in the alleys.
• Is available to work alternating 5 and 6 day work weeks as directed by supervision.
• Follows all Company policies and procedures.

Certifications / Licenses / Registrations:

None required.

Skills, Abilities and Qualifications

• Qualified candidates must have excellent fine motor coordination
• Must have the ability to increase in their harvesting speed with training provided
• Must be able to use both hands to grasp product and ensure proper cutting technique

Tareas y Responsabilidades Esenciales:

Esta disponible para trabajar 5 o 6 dias a la semana segun las indicaciones del supervisor.

Destrezas y Habilidades Esenciales:
Seguir las direcciones del supervisión para saber cuales casas se tienen que cosechar, cuales contenedores se tienen que llenaretc. .
Trabaja con seguridad y eficacia y haciendo mínimo de trabajo innecesario.
Se asegura que la superficie de la cama de hongo permanezca en buenas condiciones por medio de buenas technicas de cosecha.
Mantiene toda la seguridad alimenticia y las normas de calidad, siguiendo las buenas practicas agricolas (BPA).
Almacena todos los equipos de recoleccion segun el SOP de la compania.
Mantiene el area de trabajo limpia y ordenada, deduciendo el "droppage" del munon en los pisos, derribos de hongos en las camas y los riesgos de seguridad en los pasillos.

Resumen de la Posición:
El cosechador cortara los hongos de diferentes tamaños y formas de las camas para poder cumplir con las ordenes del cliente, para que haya mas espacio para que los nuevos hongos crezcan y para mantener la mayor calidad posible del producto para vender.
No se requiere, pero si tiene experiencia cosechando hongo seria mejor.
