Haul Truck - Mine Equipment Operator

Position Overview

The Mine Equipment Operator is responsible for operations of mobile equipment and dry plant operations. Employees are expected to operate all equipment in a safe manner. As a result, basic mechanical skills are required for the maintenance of equipment and assistance to overall plant maintenance.

Position Responsibilities

Key duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Mobile equipment operations of, but not limited to:
• wheel loader, excavator, dozer, haul truck, skid loader, and screener.
• Operation and knowledge of wash plant startup/shutdown procedures.
• Assist maintenance department in maintaining the dry plant and mobile equipment
• General labor, as needed

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of mobile equipment experience
• Capable of climbing stairs and access ladders several times per day
• In good general health
• Capable of lifting 75 pounds
• Basic mechanical skills
• Able and willing to work extended work schedules, overtime, weekends, and call ins, as necessary.
• Understand and comply with mining safety and environmental regulations
• Ability to be cross-trained to assume other responsibilities

Additional Requirements

• Pass toxicity test
• Medical clearance to wear respiratory protection
• Team-oriented, effective communicator (verbal and written), able to offer technical expertise and guidance, and have the ability and willingness to build rapport with team members and external agencies.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and set priorities appropriately
• Willingness to further training or education, if requested.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.50 - $22.50 per hour

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Heavy equipment operation: 1 year (Preferred)
