SouthBound offers a destination getaway from the hustle and bustle of life in the Queen City. The vibe is relaxed and the menu is simple - featuring authentic, made-from-scratch Mexican street food with a Southern California twist.
Redefining a Baja Cantina as we know it - by pairing art and music (check out the Music Yard) with great made-from scratch food, SouthBound offers locals and visitors alike an oasis to unwind … so close to Southern California you can almost smell the fresh sea air.
We are looking for experienced and passionate individuals who enjoy being the meeting and greeting people and love representing the restaurant and our brand image. The HOST (full and part time positions available; looking for hosts who can work 11am-4pm) will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Greet all guests professionally and friendly upon arrival.
- Complete understanding of menu and its ingredients
- Communication and good teamwork with fellow FOH members as well as the BOH
- Ability to meet guests needs and address complaints or issues promptly
- Ensuring the dining room is set up and maintained during service
- Ensures a clean and safe environment for guests and employees
- Leaving the restaurant in a clean and organized manner at the end of your shift
- Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays
The ideal candidate must be able to:
- Understand and embrace our brand image and environment = Great “first” impression every day in appearance, speech, and personality
- Read and interpret menus
- Articulate clear greetings and farewells to guests, as well as being able to understand requests for assistance
- Clearly communicate guests’ needs to Servers, Bartenders, Runners, Managers, etc.
- Hear well in a loud environment to answer telephone and respond to guest requests
- Walk and stand during the entire shift
- Understand and deliver requests for assistance
- Bi-Lingual a plus
- Must be 16 years old
