Position Overview: The Special Education Teacher at the school will be responsible for providing specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities, ensuring their access to the general education curriculum while meeting individualized educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instruction & Curriculum Implementation: Develop and deliver specially designed instruction (SDI) aligned with students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Adapt materials, methods, and instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities.
- IEP Management: Write, implement, and update IEPs. Collaborate with the IEP team, including parents, specialists, and general education teachers, to set goals and measure student progress.
- Collaboration: Work closely with general education teachers, specialists, and administrators to create an inclusive learning environment. Offer consultation on modifications, accommodations, and differentiated instruction.
- Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess and document student progress, making adjustments to instructional strategies as necessary. Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local special education regulations.
- Behavioral Support: Implement and monitor behavior intervention plans (BIPs) for students who require behavioral support, ensuring a positive and structured classroom environment.
- Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional learning opportunities to stay informed on best practices in special education and disability services.
Qualifications:
- Licensure: Must hold a valid Massachusetts teaching license in Special Education.
- Experience: Previous experience working with students with disabilities, particularly in an inclusive or resource classroom setting.
- Skills: Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to manage a diverse caseload and work as part of a multidisciplinary team
Salary : $60,000 - $80,000
