We are searching for a Team Lead – Patient Access Central Schedule to perform diversified duties both within and in support of the Patient Access Service Department including providing leadership and direction of assigned personnel and activities and providing and their revenue cycle functions. Create positive relationships with the Service Lines, physician offices, patients. Monitor and maintain quality data to hold staff accountable to department metrics and standards. Ensure optimal reimbursement through upfront collections, reduced denials and write offs and by coordinating third party payment. Act as the resource and provide education to all other system departments that schedule surgical or ancillary encounters around insurance, scheduling and collection protocols. Duties include direct supervisory responsibility for assigned personnel. Ensure that department is meeting required metrics. Duties involve supervisory responsibility for up to 35 personnel.
- Hours: 40hrs
- Shift: Day shift with weekend and holiday rotation; 8:30am – 5pm; Must be able to flex shifts based on staffing needs; Candidate will be a resource to decentralized schedulers as well
- Location: Southcoast Business Center – Fairhaven, MA
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
- An Associate’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience is required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Medical Terminology Certificate required, Lean Training, CHAA or CHAR Certified preferred.
- 3-5 years’ experience with 3rd party payer guidelines, 1-3 years of Epic Cadence & Optime scheduling preferred, 1-3 years leadership experience required.
- Demonstrated excellent communication and organization skills, leadership experience preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Office, an Electronic Health Record, and other web-based portals required.
- Proficiency with Epic registration, scheduling and billing required.
- Maintain working knowledge of both Centralized ancillary scheduling and Surgical scheduling
Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and COVID 19 and provide required vaccination documentation, unless approved for an exemption or deferral by Southcoast prior to starting employment.
