Job Title: Assistant Principal
Summary of Job Duties: This position will assist the Principal in leading the school's educational and instructional programs, operations and personnel to ensure the educational, emotional, social and physical needs of all students. The candidate selected for this position works with the principal and other support personnel in order to build positive relationships with students, families, staff and community members, collaborate and communicate effectively to facilitate meaningful relationships, and provide innovative leadership through our educational offerings. This position is 225 days per year, begins immediately upon hire.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Duties:
- Assist in leading innovative and successful educational programs such as High School Academies, Healthy Youth Development and Worlds Best Workforce.
- Development of building policies and procedures dealing with behavior management, and parent, student, teacher issues.
- Assist with the development of the master schedule, registration, determining assignment of teachers, students and locations.
- Coordination and monitoring of student database, attendance procedures and records.
- Foster high school achievement through coordination and supervision of student personnel services to ensure student’s educational needs are met.
- Assists with hiring, supervising and evaluating staff.
- Coordination & monitoring of grade reporting procedures and maintenance of student records.
- Resolve operational problems of the school in the absence of the Principal.
- Integral member of the district leadership team serving on district and community committees.
- Perform related duties as apparent or assigned.
Education and Experience: Experienced secondary leader to guide and manage staff in an inclusive and relationship driven environment that fosters trust, respect, and consensus. Demonstrates ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, parents/guardians and community. Proven record as an educational leader. Experience with High School Academies, Healthy Youth Development and shared decision making. Effective oral and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills. Experienced in the areas of curriculum development and evaluation, personnel development and evaluation and is committed to high academic standards for all students.
- Master’s degree in Education or Educational Leadership
- Current MN Principals licensure required
