What are the responsibilities and job description for the Class II Sanitor position at Southern Bakeries?
SUMMARY: Responsible for cleaning of flour silos.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
I. WORK SCHEDULE:
Attends regularly and on time to an appointed position. Workday schedule is based on assigned shift and may be adjusted as needed to meet Company needs.
II. ESSENTIAL TASKS:
1. Cleans mixers, vemags, and hbd’s along with other equipment.
2. Checks tailing for all departments.
3. Ability to successfully completed training in lock-out, tag-out and confined spaces policy and procedures.
4. Must be able to work from heights.
5. Cleans yeast tanks.
III. PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Capable of exerting up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects wipe, scrub, scrape and mop.
2. Mental and visual ability to identify various labels, written instructions and warnings related to sanitation procedures. Must be able to distinguish colors. Perform a variety of tasks following instructions provided.
3. Capable of moving up and down stairways and ladders to reach job assignments and perform the tasks required in sanitation. Tasks require climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping feeling, bending, twisting, talking and hearing.
4. Must be able to work from heights – atop silo(s).
5. Capable of working in confined spaces.
6. Capable of passing respirator fitness test.
7. Ability to work in flour dust environment.
IV. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
1. Analytical Ability
Little or no analytical ability required. Any analysis done involves simple comparisons between what a proper, clean area looks like and job to be done.
2. Independent Judgment And Consequence Of Errors
Routine work performed under close supervision or in accordance with specific and detailed instructions. Errors related to safety or contamination could cause serious injury to employees and/or consumers.
3. Contact With Others
Minimal contact with people outside the company. Frequent contacts with team members and/or production employees in the work area. Routine matters are discussed with supervision and decisions made.
4. Work Of Others
Not responsible for the work of others.
5. Work Experience

V. SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
1. As assigned by Supervisor.
VI. ONGOING REQUIREMENTS AND STANDARDS:
1. During periods of unworked time or downtime, it is required that work is to be done as assigned by Supervision.
2. Keep area of assigned work neat and clean. Assist other employees when possible.
3. Notify Supervision of any equipment / sanitation problems.
4. Maintain a high state of safety awareness.
a. Keep hands out of moving machinery.
b. Lift properly.
c. Be alert to movement of materials or other people to give right of way as needed.
6. Do not change job procedures without authorization from Supervision.

Pay: $16,097.00 - $97,224.00 per year
