Position Overview
As a Staff Accountant, you’ll work with our Accounting and Finance Team to prepare, analyze, and communicate monthly and year-end financial results, with a special focus on the General Ledger, as well as ensure reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The position reports to the Controller and is located in our beautiful office at I-35 and Mockingbird.
Position Responsibilities
· Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts including:
o Documentation for accounts payable, purchasing, and treasury, and conducting internal audits
o Fixed assed records and depreciation schedules
· Maintain documentation for accounts payable, purchasing, and treasury and conducting internal audits.
· Meet processing and reporting deadlines
· Conduct month-end close activities to include the preparation and review of account reconciliations, journal entries and accrual schedules
· Assist in preparation of monthly financial statements and monthly reporting package, including analysis and communication of financial statement fluctuations as it relates to prior year and forecast
· Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
· Assist in maintaining financial general ledger system, reporting systems and procedures, working to improve processes through existing software, software enhancements, and / or new software implementation
· Identify and implement ways to promote efficiency within the company’s financial reporting process
· Research and respond to financial inquiries from management and perform special projects as well as other incidental duties as required
· Ensure compliance with GAAP
· Assist the accounting team as needed
Position Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
· One to three years professional work experience in a staff accounting role
· Advanced knowledge of accounting and financial principles and ability to read and assess statistical and operational reports
· Proficient with spreadsheets and Office 365
· Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and demonstrate outstanding time management skills
· Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Excellent interpersonal, team-building, and organizational skills
· Flexible schedule and a commitment to meeting deadlines, even if outside of typical office hours
· High personal integrity and ethical standards
· Experience with Aspire and Acumatica financial software a plus
