Financial Aid Officer

As the Financial Aid Officer, you will ensure that all Return of Title IV calculations and review of credit balances activities are completed accurately and in a timely manner per federal regulations. You are expected to be knowledgeable regarding regulations pertaining to eligibility for all Title IV programs, especially regulations relating to the R2T4 and Credit Balance processing.

As a Financial Aid Officer, you will:
- Evaluate federal, state, and/or institutional requirements for evaluating student withdrawals against institutional policies and practices - and assess needs and recommending changes to ensure continued compliance.
- Continually monitor official student withdrawals for the term, verify attendance, recalculate student eligibility, and process return of funds, when applicable.
- Monitor unofficial withdrawals and unsatisfactory grades at the close of each term, verify attendance, recalculate student eligibility, and process Return of Title IV (R2T4) funds, when applicable.
- In conjunction with the Education Department and Online school, reevaluate financial aid eligibility when withdrawals or refunds are being requested by students.
- In conjunction with Accounts Receivable Operations, ensure refund checks resulting from Title IV credit balances are processed back to the appropriate federal programs within prescribed time-frames.
- Coordinate overall withdrawal processing (throughout the term and at end-of-module) with appropriate Systems and Operations personnel to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Serves as support staff for financial aid and accounting on withdrawal processing and the application of regulations within school policy, which may include other duties.

Do you have the right background?
- Education/Experience: You have an Associate's degree (A.A) from a two-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training' or equivalent combination of education and experience;
- 3 years of financial aid processing experience desire;
- Skills: You have the ability to follow prescribed criteria and make decisions based on these criteria; and developed proficiency in analyzing data and creating reports;
- Technical: You have a strong working knowledge of MS Suite;
