What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Technician position at Southern Cross?
What You Will Do:
Southern Cross has immediate openings for Entry-Level Field Technician (Gas Module Exchange) in Benton Harbor MI and surrounding areas. You will be responsible for the replacement of gas modules to include driving daily as required by assigned geographic areas. You will also be expected to process the required data accurately and meet all required completion dates. We will provide step-by-step training to ensure you are comfortable with the process and have a solid understanding of work expectations
.Competitive Compensation: $21.00 per hour with GUARANTEED automatic $.50 increases at both 60 days and 180 days.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage daily assigned tasks for safety, quality, and efficiency to exceed customer expectations.
- Schedule and plan work efficiently
- Follow all safety rules, organizational policies, and procedures.
- Keep Operator Qualifications current.
- Interact with the public, clients customers, and clients personnel professionally, respectfully, and cordially.
- Accurately complete task reports and work-related reports in a timely manner
- Protect, inspect, and maintain assigned equipment and vehicle.
Education and Experience:
- Technical aptitude and past/former technical training are a plus.
- Computer or Smart Phone literate
- Able to read maps and navigate congested areas in large cities.
- Adept at using hand tools and equipment.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Must have a good driving record and hold a valid drivers license.
- Physically able to bend, squat and move heavy objects, use a pipe wrench/other hand tools, lift and reach overhead.
Training Provided: New hires will participate in paid Operator Qualification training/testing pertaining to meter work/meter reading.
