Overview
The Enterprise Insights and Analytics team is looking for someone who's passionate about data visualization to join our Tableau Center of Excellence team and help transform business intelligence at Southern Glazer's Wine and Spirits. Be part of a growing effort to create standardized reports and dashboards for the largest adult beverage distributor in the US. Work with a corporate team on a visual analytics adoption strategy using Tableau. Become a Tableau expert and use your skills to create insightful dashboards that drive business decisions and help the company achieve growth targets. Work with dozens of teams across the organization as you onboard, enable, and support Tableau Creators, Viewers, and Explorers on their visual analytics journeys.
Primary Responsibilities
- • Onboard new users into the SGWS Tableau program and assist with licensing and governance
• Organize community events and meetups
• Contribute content to Tableau COE SharePoint site
• Educate inexperienced Tableau developers by assisting with and/or teaching internal Tableau Desktop classes
• Directly support Tableau Desktop users through working sessions and solving complex problems
• Create and improve resources and documentation available to Tableau users
• Design and implement Tableau Server data and workbook security model
• Assist with Tableau Server administration, including monitoring environments, diagnosing problems, and repairing issues in a timely manner
• Curate and publish standardized data sources for Creators to access via Tableau Server
• Design, build, and maintain data sources used for Tableau development across the SGWS organization
• Meet with business leads and project managers to understand dimensions, measures, and KPIs required for new or revised dashboards
• Work with Data Engineers to ensure all data requirements are met and data sources have been optimized for dashboard performance
• Design prototypes, create and maintain enterprise level Tableau Workbooks based on requirements from the business
• Uphold visual analytics best practices and create stunning, highly-performant, user-friendly Tableau workbooks
• Monitor and maintain workbooks hosted on Tableau Server. This includes setting refresh schedules, monitoring usage, diagnosing issues, and improving performance as needed
Additional Primary Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor s Degree and three years of experience or equivalent education and related experience
- • Bachelor’s or technical degree required (computer science, information systems, business administration or other industry related curriculum) or 3 years of relative experience
• 3 years of experience building, implementing, and supporting Tableau data visualizations. Tableau Certifications are encouraged (or relative degree)
• Understanding of data visualization best practices
• Familiarity with analytical tools and languages supporting data analysis, reporting, and visualization, such as Excel, Microsoft Office, OneDrive, OneNote, Google Collaborative Apps (Docs, Sheets), Tableau, Alteryx, R, Python, SQL
• Experience in data preparation, blending, discovery and visualization using modern BI & Analytics tools such as Alteryx and Tableau
• Knowledge of Tableau Server administrative tasks a plus
• Experience with Tableau Server API’s a plus
• Capability to understand business requirements and how to use analytics to support these requirements
• Skilled in building data extracts and working with data sources hosted on Tableau Server
• Experience troubleshooting issues with Tableau Workbooks

- Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or adding machine
- Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
- May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
