What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager-Heavy Civil position at Southern Gulf Solutions?
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience as a Project Manager in the heavy civil construction sector, be highly organized and efficient, enjoy working with a team, and be capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously. This individual will work closely with the Operations Manager/General Manager on the direction of new business and internal business processes, and will also be responsible for overseeing all marketing and promotional efforts.
Requirements and skills:
- 5 years’ experience in Heavy Civil construction.
- BS Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent experience is a plus
- Proven experience in managing projects from beginning to completion.
- Experience in managing self-perform forces in mass excavation, underground utilities, and paving.
- Exposure to DOT Construction Management is a plus.
- Exposure to Marine Construction Management is a plus.
- Experience with CPM scheduling in Primavera P6 a plus.
- Project Engineers with 3 years experience welcome to apply.
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Responsibilities:
- Develop a project management plan and work with your team to follow the plan.
- Monitor and report on project progress, scope, quality, schedule, and risk.
- Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders.
- Negotiate with the client and make trade-off decisions to identify the best possible outcome.
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
- Ensure resource availability and allocation.
- Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs.
- Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.
- Report and escalate to management as needed.
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.

Pay: $84,249.00 - $92,457.00 per year
