Safety
- Manages processes effectively in regard to employee/patient safety.
Record Keeping
- Maintains all required records, reports, statistics, logs, files and other documents as required.
Process Improvement
- Promotes a culture of process improvement by participating in unit/department based programs that supports the system’s process improvement goals.
- Actively participates on system-wide or hospital-based teams as needed.
Role Specific Responsibilities
- Screens patients for determination of nutritional status.
- Recommends supplements, advances diets and provides nutritional support to physicians/staff.
- Consults with inpatients, family, physicians, nurses and staff, as appropriate, to provide nutrition education
- Assesses and reassesses patients at nutritional risk and makes recommendations for nutrition therapy.
- Develops or orders nutrition education materials for patients, employees and the community.
- Reviews and revises modified diet information provided by Food & Nutrition Services.
- Provides nutritional education to employees, outpatients and community members as needed.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Food and Nutrition or Dietetics
