Here's more information about the job you clicked on: This position is based in the following office location: Manchester, NH The School of Engineering, Technology, and Aeronautics (SETA) at Southern New Hampshire University invites applications for a full-time faculty appointment for the Mechanical Engineering program. The position is at the assistant professor level, starting fall 2022, with primary responsibilities in teaching undergraduate Mechanical Engineering courses, mentoring students and developing curriculum for new and existing programs. We seek faculty who can contribute vision, energy, and leadership, and are eager to play a creative role in furthering curriculum development at a college where one person can truly make a difference. The successful applicant must have a Masters degree or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering closely allied field and expertise in one or more of the following areas: Thermo-fluids and Design. We seek colleagues who are committed to excellence in undergraduate education and who value hands-on project-based learning. Faculty members are encouraged to be involved in a variety of interdisciplinary projects across the campus. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Develop, prepare, and teach college-approved Mechanical Engineering courses in accordance with approved course descriptions and class schedules Engage in shared governance by participating in department and College committees and assisting in the formulation of policy pertaining to educational programs Mentor students in the department for their academic needs and mentor students in project work Participate in the departmental efforts for curriculum development, program reviews and accreditation under the supervision of the department chair & ABET Coordinator Collaborate with the faculty/staff in departmental and College-level projects Develop and attend professional improvement activities in order to maintain contact with one's academic discipline, including teaching/learning processes and/or development of knowledge in one's field of specialization Develop new instructional materials, techniques, course offerings or major revisions of the same Participate in student career development and related mentoring activities and special retention programs Participate in College outreach events and projects Attend occasional evening and weekend SETA, Admission and University-wide events Attend trainings, professional development activities and/or meetings Minimum Qualifications: Degree(s) requirement: Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering Preferred Qualifications: Teaching experience in Higher Education and/or industrial experience in the related technical fields is preferred.
