Satellite Technician

As the face of Southern Star DISH, you’ll introduce residential customers to our award-winning TV service and sell state of the art technology in conjunction with servicing their DISH equipment. Your knowledge of our wide-range of technology and services will provide customized solutions to meet needs and elevate the customer experience.

Once you’re a part of the team, you’ll gain amazing compensation opportunities including hourly pay commission, the chance for performance incentive bonuses as well as the opportunity to receive production-based pay instead of being stuck at your base hourly rate! We provide paid training; with a first-year potential of $50,000 or more. Earning potential increases with experience the only cap is your level of performance!

Average Technician Pay: $50,000 - $60,000 annually

Exceptional Technician Pay: $60,000 - $85,000 annually

Experienced in this or a related field and looking for a change? EXPERIENCED TECHS OFFERED A HIGHER STARTING RATE!

This position requires you to work on Saturdays, with the option to opt for Sundays off after your training period is complete. If you opt to have Sundays off it’s likely you will end up with split days off.

You’ll communicate your expertise through hands-on demos that generate new sales during the home visit. You’ll also be responsible meeting sales and service objectives.

Our most successful sales experts typically demonstrate:

• The ability to upsell products and services while installing their DISH system
• Excellent time management
• Communication skills

You will also need to perform the following:

• Work flexible hours, including evenings
• Maintain a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
• Climb ladders up to 40 ft (our ladders have a maximum capacity of 250 lbs)
• Utilize crawl spaces in attics and under homes
• Technicians need to be willing to travel to other location within the company to provide support as needed – up to 20% travel possible - lodging & per diem provided by SSI during these campaigns.

Once you go solo we provide the van, phone and equipment you will use to complete your work.

No experience needed, however experience in cable, construction, plumbing, manufacturing, retail, and delivery translates well to this role. Experience as a gutter installer, assembler, tile installer, sales representative, electronics technician, installation technician and helper all a plus!
