The Accounting Specialist will perform a wide variety of accounting functions, including establishing and maintaining accounting records for a combination of general accounting and cost systems. This position is based out of Southern Tide’s corporate office in Greenville, SC.
Crew Position:
Carefully receive, review, and code invoices with appropriate account and GL information to be loaded into accounts payable system, Perceptive Content. Work closely with operating groups to resolve issues that prevent data entry (invalid GL, duplicate item, missing approval, etc.).
Audit expense reimbursement request for completeness, accuracy and adherence to policies. Submit to appropriate approving managers and Oxford for payment.
Assist employees with research on invoices.
Utilize standard AP reporting to provide timely information on outstanding vendor debit balances and assist with resolution.
Coordinate and ensure resolution of AP unclaimed checks: maintain the active list, coordinating with each operating group to properly address and document resolutions. Correspond with vendors through various means to close issues by requesting checks be reissued to vendors.
Responsible for new customer account setup and maintenance in ERP system (includes working with Sales Representatives, requesting signed paperwork, assisting with follow-ups, etc.)
Forward physical check remittances that arrive at the Southern Tide office to Oxford lockbox.
Print and mail physical invoice copies to identified accounts.

Know the ropes...
High school degree required. College degree preferred.
Generally, 2 years of relevant accounting, accounts payable, or related experience
SAP experience required; Concur experience desired but not required.
Proficient in the use of web-based applications, including banking institutions, third party interfaces, vendors and government agencies.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft office suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
