What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Engineer (MPD) position at Southwest Microwave?
Job Summary: Support MPD Quality department, including MRB, product failure analysis and corrective actions. Support inspection. Implement and monitor adherence to applicable internal, industry (MIL, ISO, etc.) and customer procedures.
Job Duties: As directed, work independently or as part of a team, to perform job duties including the following. Other duties as assigned.
· Coordinate all activities to upkeep the Quality Management System and its certification.
· Provide primary support for Hi-Rel, MRB and Inspections.
· Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to address quality issues and prevent recurrence.
· Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures and standards.
· Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance with relevant quality standards and regulations.
· Train and educate employees on quality principles, processes, and tools.
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality.
Skills/Experience: Three (3) years min. in quality engineering, or similar position, within a QA system involving military or hi-rel electromechanical components. Requires knowledge of plating processes and testing, metallurgy, and fabrication of high-tolerance metal components. Requires basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical and chemical tests applicable to hi-rel electromechanical components. Requires good verbal, written and PC (MSOffice) communication abilities.
Education: BS Degree in technical discipline or equivalent experience.
Physical demands: Able to sit, stand and walk for prolonged periods of time. Able to perform repetitive work and have the ability to use a microscope and be able to hold small hand tools. Able to lift up to 30 lbs.
