This position is an active member of the site leadership team working collaboratively with the Director of Nursing, Site Administrator, Clinical Director, Chief Psychiatrist and other members of the leadership team regarding the site-based delivery of clinical care. Works with the leadership team to ensure effective coordination and communication with the nursing staff. Collaborates with the Site Administrator, Clinical Director, and Director of Nursing on operational issues at the site that affect clinical nursing practice.
Assists the Director of Nursing in communicating system initiatives to nurses and ensures implementation and follow up. Provides clinical supervision to Southwest Network and contracted nursing staff at assigned site(s). All members of our team are expected to provide services in accordance with the Nine Guiding Principles for Recovery Oriented Adult Behavioral Health Services and Systems.
Performs all duties required of nurses in this treatment system to include nursing assessments, medication administration, injections, and venipuncture. Perform specialized duties as required by special clinical situations or treatment populations consistent with license and scope of practice. Completes annual and targeted primary care provider (PCP) coordination activities and identifies opportunities to assist members in obtaining needed physical healthcare. Is actively involved in pharmacy benefit coordination and working with different third-party liability representatives and payers to ensure members get needed medication. Provides coverage for other nurses at assigned clinic as needed; may cover other clinics; and provides on-call services as directed. Responsible for promoting and role modeling practice according to the recovery model and knows and practices engagement skills including motivational interviewing; and ensures nursing staff assists members to define and achieve their own recovery goals. Role models professionalism and supports a team approach to providing care. Practices according to evidence-based practices and AHCCCS Performance Improvement Protocols and Technical Assistance Documents as posted on the AHCCCS website. Follows policies and procedures and adheres to the requirements of the Corporate Compliance Program. Ensures confidentiality of verbal and written information in accordance with HIPAA standards and Southwest Network policy, and adheres to the legal, ethical and professional guidelines adopted by Southwest Network. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE, LICENSURE and CERTIFICATION |
Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred) with a current license issued by the Arizona Board of Nursing as a Registered Professional Nurse. Minimum of five (5) years psychiatric/behavioral health experience working with adult SMI patients required, preferably in an outpatient setting. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Must maintain current CPR, First Aid, and Therapeutic Options certifications. Must have and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license. Must be at least 21 years of age.
