Peer Support Specialist – Grant County, Wisconsin
The Southwestern Wisconsin Community Action Program has an immediate need for Peer Support Specialists working in Grant County, Wisconsin.
Peer Support Specialists serve as role models, mentors, and advocates to people with behavioral health concerns and/or concerns related to substance use. Peer Support Specialists help promote long-term recovery and prevent relapse. Peer Support Specialists share personal recovery experiences as one way of helping people move toward their individual recovery goals.
This is a part-time, on-call position. Expect 8 to 12 work hours per week, though actual work hours could vary depending on number of calls. Starting pay rate for the Peer Support Specialist position is $16.00 per hour.
To be a Peer Support Specialist, you need:
· Lived experience with behavioral health and/or substance use concerns.
· A Wisconsin Certified Peer Support Specialist credential, or the ability to obtain the credential post-hire.
· The ability to pass pre-hire background checks.
· A valid driver’s license with use of an insured vehicle. Use of personal, insured vehicle is reimbursed at standard IRS rates.
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Genuine concerns for the wellbeing of others.
