What are the responsibilities and job description for the Market Lab Director position at SOVAH Health - Danville?
Directs the activities of the Sovah Health Danville and Martinsville's Laboratory department's activities and resources to achieve departmental and organizational objectives. Plans, coordinates and implements technical activities, services and quality improvement initiatives in the administrative management of the Laboratory.
Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical,administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding.
Facilitates and builds collaboration and cooperation amongst internal and external stakeholders Ensures the laboratory operations across the market are aligned with industry best practice protocols and standards
Coordinates and directs internal/external audits, and performs daily charge reconciliation, monthly and quarterly self audits.
Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
Ensures department stays focused on their important role in the continuum of care.Responsible for providing leadership and direction in accordance with organization, departmental, and regulatory agencies, philosophy, goals and standards.
Minimum Education: Graduate of a program in Clinical Laboratory Sciences or related sciences required. Bachelor’s degree required. Master's degree preferred.
Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications: Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology required
Minimum Work Experience: Four (4) years of clinical laboratory experience required.Three (3) years of management/supervision experience required.
