Take a look at our career posting below. Don’t check all the boxes? Apply anyway! We are focused on hiring the right people, not the “right” resume.
It’s not about what you have done somewhere else, it’s all about what you are capable of doing here.
The Work You'll Do:
As a UX/UI designer at Sovos, you’ll design digital products and tools that deliver exceptional experiences for both our external and internal customers. These experiences exist to make tax compliance easy for small businesses, accounting firms, and mid-sized organizations and we believe the user experience is a core differentiator. This is a junior to mid-level position, but as part of a collaborative and engaged product team you’ll be able to learn and grow in your career through mentorship and a connection to other designers at Sovos.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for designing the interface and interaction flow of digital product experiences anchored in – and informed by – customer feedback and research insights. You’ll be working in close collaboration with a team of developers and product leaders to craft and deliver user experiences that consider the goals and constraints of the project. We believe that your first idea is rarely the best idea, so iteration will be a key part of this role. To support you, you’ll be a part of a feedback cycle that will not only strengthen your design but provide valuable learnings as you grow in your experience as a designer.
You’ll be the perfect fit for this role if:
- You are a naturally curious person
- You’re driven to solve problems in creative ways
- You enjoy collaborating, learning, and growing with a team
- You are passionate, driven, and humble in your approach
- You’re excited about solving complex challenges
- You take an iterative approach to design
- You’re proactive, and biased towards action
- You carry a high degree of self-awareness
More specifically you will:
- Follow design best practices when crafting user flows, mockups, prototypes, etc.
- Collaborate with developers and key stakeholders to gather context that will inform your designs
- Deliver just the right amount of detail and fidelity in your designs (you’ll be supported in this)
- Test and iterate on ideas before getting attached to them
- Create full, end-to-end design deliverables that ensure successful implementation
- Demonstrate a commitment to personal development and learning
What We Need From You
- A portfolio that demonstrates excellence in crafting user-centric digital experiences (must include examples of contemporary, high-fidelity designs, plus context and background for each project)
- Familiarity and some level of experience with the design lifecycle
- Proven ability to exemplify our “Be Collaborative” core value
- Strong visual design skills at low, medium and high fidelity
- Demonstrated ability to rationalize and justify design decisions and communicate complex ideas
- Proficiency with modern design tools such as Sketch or Figma (preferred)
- A willingness to have fun while Solving Tax for Good®
- Due to client contractual obligations – the idea candidate will be asked to clear a background check and drug test upon hire
What Does Sovos Offer You?
The tools to enhance your life - because we want you to enjoy your life outside of work
- Unlimited Paid Time off
- Paid Family Leave
- Tuition Reimbursement
- Generous 401k match
- Globally recognized training and development programs
