Responsibilities
Assist in the scheduling and day-to-day management of the traffic officers that direct and control traffic for the Company, while adhering to Company policies and procedures, fostering good client relations and promoting a professional image and approach to the business.
- Schedule officers for all identified traffic control locations.
- Enlist additional traffic control officers to cover shifts as needed.
- Monitor the day-to-day activities of traffic control officers.
- Notify management of any performance deficiencies for individual traffic control officers.
Qualifications
- Police Department rank of sergeant or above
- Minimum 2 years experience in directing and controlling traffic in the area
- Valid state-issued traffic control flagger certification
- License Requirement - The employee will be required to have and maintain a valid state driver’s license with a current address an acceptable driving record.
- Oral Communication Skills – Ability to speak clearly; listen and get clarification; and respond well to questions
- Written Communication Skills – Ability to write clearly and informatively; and read and interpret written information
- Customer Service Skills – Ability to maintain a positive attitude; and respond to requests for service and assistance
- Adaptability – Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment; and deal with change, delays, or unexpected events
- Judgment – Ability to exhibit sound and accurate judgment
- Availability to Work - Special shift requirements, if any, will vary depending on a location's hiring needs. If applicable, availability to work 2nd shift, 3rd shift and/or week-ends may be required.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand; walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
