PURPOSE:
Reporting to the Quality Supervisor, The Quality Inspector III is responsible for performing final inspections of finished product, generating final dimensional inspection reports, in-process and receiving inspections of outside process parts and purchased product, document reviews, assist with gage setup/issuance, assist departmental leadership with training of new inspectors, and when needed, first article inspections and statistical process control inspections. Lastly, this role will be critical in supporting the quality needs of the business. In matters concerning operations, the Quality Inspector II adheres to the policies, procedures and work instructions that comprise Space-Lok’s AS9100D quality management system.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow sampling plans, where applicable
- Perform final inspection of completed product and generate paperwork for shipment
- Generate Final Inspection Reports for Conformance records
- Conduct first article inspections, when needed
- Apply stamp to shop order, log sheets and status tag
- Verification of Calibration Status
- Perform Statistical Process Control Inspection (SPC) activities, when needed
- Review and approve outside processing purchase orders for proper flow downs, when needed
- Perform and Process Receiving Inspection of outside processed parts
- Perform In-Process Inspection of completed operations
- Review SPC Charts for conformity to customer requirements
- Perform Flight Safety Inspections, as required
- Assist with Setup of Gages for use by Inspection, Production, or Issuing to Vendors
- Interpret Shop Drawings and Operation Instructions
- Perform Rockwell Hardness Testing, as required
- Consult with Production personnel, as required
- Participate in the internal audit program, as required
- Perform Review of Completed Work Orders
- Assist with the generation of inspection templates for first article/in-process, final
- Assist departmental leadership with training of new inspectors
- Adhere to Department Procedures and Work Instructions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by department leadership.
- Must be able to work weekends and extended hours at Month and Quarter End.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· High School diploma
· Experience in Manufacturing
· 7 or more Years Inspection Experience in Aerospace
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Higher level degree (Associates, Bachelor’s)
· Formal, certified training or experience in Inspection Methodologies
· Experience in Aerospace Fastener manufacturing and Quality Management Systems
· Experience using InfinityQS SPC Software, ERP Software
· Experience programming of Automated visual inspection systems.
