What are the responsibilities and job description for the Painter position at Sparks?

Position Overview


The Painter/Finisher is responsible for applying paint, varnishes, and similar coatings to materials such as metals, woods, and plastics using various techniques to apply paint, including sprays, rollers, and brushes. Also responsible for cleaning and preparing the surface to be painted, removing previous finishes (including by sandblasting), and cleaning up of the area after each step of preparation and painting itself is done.


Responsibilities


  • Experience painting, finishing, staining a variety of materials and structures.
  • Experience with lacquer or poly urethane coatings.
  • Experience with sanding lacquers, primers, paint.
  • Position requires an energetic positive attitude.
  • Must work well in a team environment.
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications


  • 3-5 years’ experience working in an industrial paint shop, exhibit house, or automotive shop preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly identify and resolve problems through resourcefulness and initiative.
  • Ability to make decisions, take direction and execute a plan.
  • Team oriented with a high sense of urgency and motivation; a problem solver.

  • Proficient in Google Drive and Microsoft Office
  • Strong attention to detail, a positive attitude, and a team player
  • Ability to operate within a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
