What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality inspector position at Sparton?
Position Objective Performs quality control inspections, checks and tests during the manufacturing of products. Inspects materials, parts and products at different stages of production.
Records observations and may make recommendations for improving processes.
Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct line assembly, sub-assembly and in-process inspections.
- Reference blueprints, interpret dimensioning shown and review inspection results against engineering and customer expectations.
- Perform Fidelity Assessments after Sparton training.
- Interact with program’s operators, Group Leads, and Supervisors.
- Provide feedback to operations and Quality Engineers about program’s quality issues.
- Check, measure, and enforce product adherence to program’s Quality Audit Quality Inspection Plans (QAQI).
- Complete respective paperwork / documentation.
- Record inspection results and maintain general filing.
- All other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED
Required Qualifications
- Must possess good math fundamentals, comprehend written work instructions and communicate well.
- Ability to use GO / NO GO, direct and fixed gauges, scales, micrometers, direct reading electrical test sets. Sparton training will be provided.
- Ability to interpret simple and complex parts of assembly drawings.
- Must be willing to obtain general or advanced soldering workmanship standard certification.
- Willingness and ability to obtain / retain ESD Precautions Standards certification.
- Must have basic understanding of PC systems data entry, retrieval.
- Must meet minimum requirements for vision and color recognition tests.
