Role
The primary function of this role is to provide marketing support for Spectra Credit Union. Works directly with the Marketing & Business Development Manager on marketing campaigns, editing, creative and design. Assists with member events, branch marketing inventory and communication. Participates in a variety of projects as necessary. This is a versatile position, which requires interaction and involvement with members, employees, vendors and key stakeholders simultaneously.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
35% - Marketing Administration - 1. Attend weekly marketing review calls with the internal department and The Pod to stay abreast of task, projects, and/or events that are strategically planning to meet or exceed the credit union's organizational goals. 2. Assists branch offices with displays, promotions, and marketing materials, clearly communicating the purpose and details of promotions to ensure brand consistency and the timely update of materials. 3. Undertakes daily administrative tasks to ensure the functionality and coordination of the department’s activities, including updating loan and deposit rates. 4. Contributes to the growth of Spectra’s social media presence and engagement, by updating and monitoring Spectra’s social media accounts and facilitating social media promotional campaigns. 5. Maintains, and updates the public website and intranet site to ensure that content is accurate and up to date. 6. Acts as liaison for staff, vendors, and agencies to communicate marketing objectives, maintain positive relationships and/or secure price quotes. 7. Provide editing and creative feedback for promotional materials. 8. Coordinate the review and approval of promotional materials amongst the department.
35% - Marketing Collateral - 1. Distribute materials for each marketing campaign or event to the appropriate department or channel. 2. Ensure all collateral adheres to all internal compliance procedures. 3. Maintain and restock inventory of marketing materials and supplies. Coordinate distribution of inventory to branches, departments, and/or events according to their needs. 4. Audit member branches quarterly to ensure the accuracy of the marketing materials and displays. 5. Assist with creating presentations on financial services to groups to promote credit union growth.
20% - Event Coordination - 1. Supports credit union events/seminars/webinars for Spectra, including planning and coordinating event logistics, needed materials, and communicating event details to staff. 2. Provide recommendations and execution of event communication 3. Be a visible presence in the local community. Promote the credit union through visible participation in business, community and charitable organizations and activities.
10% - Reporting - 1. Maintains accurate reporting, appropriate tracking, and measurement of credit union post - event initiatives and results for the board report monthly. 2. Upon request, generate or provide reports to The Pod and/or Marketing and Business Development Manager adhering to criteria requirements.
Knowledge & Skills
Experience - Two to Five years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions.
Education - Associate degree from a two-year college, technical school, or equivalent education/experience.
Interpersonal Skills - The ability to motivate or influence others is a material part of the job, requiring a significant level of diplomacy and trust. Obtaining cooperation and fostering sound relationships (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the job.
Other Skills - Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to express ideas and procedures clearly and concisely, and ability to work with highly sensitive information are required. Bilingual abilities are a plus. Knowledge and proficient use of computer applications to include spreadsheet and word processing programs; exceptional organizational skills; must demonstrate leadership skills; must effectively delegate and manage time; accordingly, must be detail-oriented and possess strong analytical skills. Performs other credit unions duties/projects as required or as assigned.
ADA Requirements
Physical Requirements - Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine offce equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
Working Conditions - Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.
Mental and/or Emotional Requirements - Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics.
