Spectrum Employee Services is seeking a self-motivated, high-achieving, hardworking individual that is excited about being part of a successful team. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for providing quality service to payroll clients in UKG Ready and is the main point of contact for assigned client companies. They will assist clients with all service needs including but not limited to software questions and troubleshooting, payroll processing and assistance or general service needs.
This position requires effective communication, both orally and in writing, with a diversified client base. This position requires efficiency and flexibility in performing detailed tasks in a fast-paced work environment with frequent interruptions, changing priorities, and multiple deadlines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintaining pleasant demeanor and commitment to customer service.
- Serving as the first point of contact for clients thus setting the tone of the experience.
- Responsible for processing payroll or assisting clients with processing payroll in UKG
Ready/Kronos Workforce Ready. This may include entering various payroll-related data in the system including new hires, processing terminations, pay rate changes, employee deductions, bonuses, garnishments, etc.
- Handle tasks such as compiling various reports and providing direction on system functionality.
- Escalate benefit or tax issues to appropriate departments
- Answering phones and emails and various other administrative tasks as necessary.
- Remaining current on software functionality to provide excellent service.
- Coordinating solutions to client challenges with management as needed and staying in communication with clients until issues are resolved.
- Other tasks as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- Prior experience processing payroll REQUIRED*
- Experience with UKG Ready® (formerly Kronos Workforce Ready) Preferred*
- Previous or Current experience at a Payroll Service Bureau preferred
- Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three years of relevant work experience in a software/customer service environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Able to effectively communicate with clients
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Positive, enthusiastic personality
- Excellent mathematical skills
- A keen eye for detail
- Ability to work independently with little supervision required
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to remain calm while working under pressure in a busy environment.
- Ability to work within the time frame of standard policies and procedures.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel is essential
