Position Summary
The Medical Office Assistant float is a key part of the success of our integrated healthcare sites. This individual must have a high level of customer service to engage with Spectrum clients, vendors and staff. In this role, as the Office Assistant float, your responsibilities include temporarily covering any location in Cottonwood (Prescott if needed). This individual must be able to cover any location on a short notice and have reliable transportation. This individual will greet and register patients according to office protocol and assist them with completing all necessary documentation including medical insurance. This individual also ensures that patient information is accurate including billing information and maintaining patient records which is critical for us to appropriately serve our clients and effectively bill for services. As the front-line representative, the Medical Office Assistant float will set the tone for the patient experience by answering and coordinating incoming calls, scheduling patient appointments, collecting co-pays and payments, and coordinating print requisitions and orders. This individual will ensure that our reception area is inviting by keeping it clean and welcoming to our guests. This individual will also perform other duties as assigned to assist with clinic operations.
The Medical Office Assistant is a full-time, non-exempt, hourly position working Monday through Friday business hours with positions located at our Yavapai County clinics.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Successfully pass background check and drug test
- Experienced with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Internet
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to prioritize workload and manage phone and patient traffic
- Ability to complete data entry and scheduling with minimal errors
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare office environment
- Knowledge of general medical terminology, insurance eligibility, and co-payments/ deductibles
- Experience with scheduling patient appointments
- Experience with office equipment
