- The assistant general manager helps the general manager to ensure day-to-day business operations run smoothly. The assistant manager will draw up weekly schedules, order merchandise, and assist the general manager with training, recruiting, promotions and planning.
- Must be an experienced assistant general manager to help the general manager in directing daily business operations.
- Should be experienced in a supervisory role, and be able to confidently deliver performance feeedback, set goals, foster teamwork, and clearly communicate business objectives.
- Must be able to preform duties in the absence of the general manager.
- Should eagerly participate in educational and training opportunities.
- Must be able to motivate staff, especially during times of low moral.
- A top candidate for this position must have strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Should be firm, but also approachable
- Cooperating with the general manager, and assisting with anything from project planning to staff manager.
- Nurturing positive working relationships with staff
- Delegating daily tasks
- Addressing any issues in a timely fashion.
- Supervising staff and controlling merchandise.
- Ensuring company policies and procedures are followed.
- Setting a good example for staff.
- Degree in business administration or similar or at least 6 years in management at a full service restaurant
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Good observation skills
- An ability to deliver constructive criticism
- Computer literate and basic math skills
- An ability to identify weaknesses and provide coaching where necessary.
- Must be able to work weekends and restaurant hours
- Must be open to technology and paperless environment
- Must be dressed professionally
- Must demonstrate leadership and a positive attitude.
- At least 6 years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Prior restaurant management experience, preferably in a growing environment and in full service restaurants.
- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully preform the essential functions of this job.
- Individuals may need to sit and stand as needed
- The position may require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day.
- The employee may reach above shoulder height or below the waist or lift as required throughout the work day. Proper lifting technics are required.
