Contestant Booker/ Producer
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for recruiting, booking and interviewing contestants for the Spectrum News Challenge.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Actively engages with school districts, schools and clubs to find qualified contestants for the show
Interviews the contestants via web-based platform
Writes up daily summaries of interviews and simple edits clips if possible for managers
Helps produce contestant bio packages that will run on the episodes
Helps with any and all coordination on tape days which may include on-site guest coordination
Works in computerized newsroom environment.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
Demonstrated broadcast news writing ability
Ability to anticipate situations and meet strict deadlines
Interpersonal skills and excellent collaboration skills
Ability to work effectively within a team environment and interact with all personnel within the organization
Knowledge of current events and industry trends
Attention to detail
Familiarity with the local market
Knowledge of social media platforms
Ability to work rapidly and accurately
Basic editing skills preferred
Required Education
High School diploma
Required Related Work Experience and Number of Years
Television booking/ producing experience - 2 preferred

The pay for this position has a salary range of $50,500.00 to $105,400.00. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
