As a Business Intelligence Architect II,you are responsible for creating solution blueprints, high-level design and implementation strategies, logical and physical data models for end-to-end Business Intelligence (BI) and data warehousing solutions. WHAT OUR BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE ARCHITECTS ENJOY MOST

• Actively and consistently supporting all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
• Translating business requirements and end user’s needs into architecture blueprints that deliver cost effective, high performing, and high-quality BI solutions in compliance with Charter standards, policies and long-term technical strategies.
• Cross-referencing diverse requirements from different verticals to coalesce them into a standard scalable companywide catalog of metrics, BI data models, cubes, and reporting solutions.
• Architecting, developing, implementing, and supporting logical and physical data models for BI data repositories, including data movement infrastructures.
• Working with IT partners to review the upstream data source data models and assess/mitigate the impact on BI side for new integrations or changes.
• Working closely with BI developers and IT engineers to develop road maps for BI applications, align development plans, and to ensure effective integration to support end-to-end data solutions.
• Providing architectural expertise, thought leadership, direction, and assistance across entire BI organization.
• Participating in Architecture Review Board meetings. Reviewing solutions presented by other BI architects and providing constructive feedback. Take a lead role in defining new architectural and data movement patterns.
• Defining, implementing, and promoting BI architectural guidelines/standards, best practices, governing mechanisms, key processes, controls and supporting tools.
• Ensuring conceptual and architectural integrity of the BI platform and analytical solutions
• Diagnosing highly complex issues and evaluating, recommending, and executing the best resolution spanning multiple tiers in the BI/DW technology stack.
• Advising on allocation of budget to meet BI architectural initiatives critical to business success.
• Mentoring and guiding junior developers and new architects to improve the overall effectiveness of the department to deliver integration, ETL/ELT job, and analytic solutions.
• Keeping current with trends and technological innovations in the BI, data warehousing, and analytics space in order to contribute to the execution of proofs-of-concept for new approaches and platforms.
• Identifying the tools and components used within the domain based on the enterprise toolset and define exceptions as warranted.
• Performing other duties as requested.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science; or equivalent combination of training, education and experience
• Work experience in delivering BI solutions - 10 years
• Experience in data mining, data acquisition, transformation, and cleaning, both structured and unstructured data - 8 years
• 5 Data integration experience utilizing Shell Script, Python, JSON, Pyspark
• 5 years of Experience with AWS Redshift, Snowflake MPP data warehouse platforms
• 3 years of hands-on experience with cloud services especially AWS Redshift, AWS ECS, AWS SNS, AWS S3, AWS EC2, AWS EMR
• AWS Cloud Architect Certification.
• 3 Knowledge of Unix shell scripting is required.
• 3 Experience in AWS cloud-native application development
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Effective analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
• Expertise in all areas of data warehousing (architecture, data sourcing/acquisition, integration, transformation, presentation, visualization)
• Proven ability to quickly grasp business requirements and translate them into technical solution blueprints.
• Experience in logical and physical database design for data warehousing (3NF/Star Schemas) including SQL writing/tuning on MPP platforms.
• Effective problem solving, collaboration and communication skills
• Passion for leveraging data to improve business outcomes.
• Proficient in complex database concepts and effectively employ different database design techniques.
• Understanding of how data governance plays a role in BI
• Ability to prioritize and organize effectively.

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS Redshift, Snowflake MPP data warehouse platforms Architecture
• Experience working with ETL workflow and scheduling applications like One Automation.
• Experience in developing automated frameworks, templates and design patterns -
• Familiarity with building report cubes and working with MicroStrategy, Tableau
• Familiarity Hadoop architecture frameworks – hdfs, yarn
• Familiarity with write and debug hive sql using tez as execution engine.
• Understanding on AWS EMR and S3 is good to have.
• Familiarity with big data/distributed technologies such as Hadoop, data bricks and Spark
• Experience working with Telecom/Cable MSO data and applications.
• Master's degree, or equivalent experience with design and architecture
