Job Posting for Payroll Assistant/ Receptionist at Spencer Construction
We are a fast-paced, growing construction company that delivers safety, quality, and on-time work, that specializes in heavy civil construction that includes earthwork, concrete work, steel erection and more.
To be a successful Payroll Assistant/ Receptionist, you will facilitate results through providing support of business practices and policies in order to effectively assist with processing Spencer Construction payroll. Receptionist duties includes activities such as answering and screening calls, payroll reporting reporting, certified payroll, and ad hoc projects.
This position additionally provides general administrative functions and assistance, which may include communicating with internal and external stakeholders, preparing documents and reports, compiling records, composing correspondence and other documents, analyzing data.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Office Manager with performing payroll and completing certified payroll reports
Interact with internal and/or external customers to answer basic questions and resolve problems within prescribed guidelines.
Maintain and compiles reports from data as needed.
Maintain and create digital files.
Anticipate business needs and recommend solutions.
Assist with improving process performance by identifying and clarifying problems; evaluating potential solutions and presenting selected solutions to the Office Manager
Any and all other duties assigned. Job Requirements
Strong skills in interpersonal communication, writing and organization.
Ability to handle confidential information with great sensitivity.
Ability to work with limited supervision and high motivation.
Must possess a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
2 or more years' experience as a Payroll Assistant or similar position.
Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office suite products i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Must have reliable transportation.
Must be able to lift 25-50 lbs.
Must pass a background check and a pre-employment drug test

This position operates at professional construction office, requiring the ability to communicate with verbally others on site, in person and over the telephone, ability to read printed materials, signs and directions, stamina to maintain attention despite interruptions, ability to lift, push, pull, carry, handle or feel objects, supplies, tools, machinery and/or controls weighing up to 25 pounds and reach with hands and arms; climb stairs and/or ladders; balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift overhead, traverse around or otherwise position one's self around the required work and safety requirements to navigating and perform job duties in a safe manner.
