Specialist, Data Management

Job Location: Corporate Indianapolis PRIMARY PURPOSE: The data onboarding and feed management specialist will be responsible for configuring new retailer product, price, store and/or inventory data feeds using Azure Data Factory and Cosmos DB, monitoring existing data feeds, and general troubleshooting of feed issues. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills to work with Simon, the retailers that are supplying this data and 3rd party data team members to ensure data is accurately ingested into the system and any data issues are resolved quickly PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: Onboarding data feeds for retailer products & price, store locations and local in-store inventory data Owning the data normalization / standardization / cleansing processes to ensure only well mapped, high-quality data makes its way thru the data onramps Managing ongoing feed ingestion operations and interruptions Performing initial feed QA assessments that review things such as structure, data completeness, format, delivery method, file naming, column headers, required fields, etc Owning ongoing feed data normalization improvements (ex. improve color family match rates) Setting up and maintain new data feed ingestion pipelines across multiple indexes and pipelines Creating daily alerts for feed import failures, ingestion errors, unmapped data, etc. Controlling all statuses and milestone insights around the ongoing flow of feeds, across all stages of pre-sales, onboarding and live production data flows Help construct baseline scoring and data feed aggregation functions for business needs Communicating directly with retailers and/or their agency partners to do initial feed assessments, troubleshooting and onboarding steps required to fully onramp MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Strong communication skills and ability to work complex technical issues while collaborating with different teams Ability to analyze, resolve and document problems and resolutions Strong understanding of Cloud technologies (Azure) Experience constructing ETL and ELT processes using Azure Data Factory Experience with Azure Cosmos DB, Azure SQL, MS SQL Server Experience configuring Azure Cognitive Search with Azure Blob storage a plus Experience with reporting tools and report development (i.e. PowerBI) Experience with collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, Azure DevOps (ADO) Working knowledge of agile development, including DevOps and DataOps concepts is a plus 2 years experience with the Azure technologies mentioned above Past experience working with data feeds from an industry such as Retail, Media, Supply Chain & Logistics BS in Business Information Systems, Computer Science, Programming/Software Development or related field
